PLAAY Hoops in Hartford, CT: 10.15.22
Time to re-activate the PLAAY Live Events schedule, and what better place to do it than the PLAAY Games hotbed of Hartford, Connecticut! (Full disclosure: I'm originally from the Hartford area myself, so..."it's personal!")
Join us at 12 noon on Saturday 10.15.22 at the Hampton Inn Hartford Airport, 2168 Poquonock Ave, Windsor, CT 06095 (about a mile off I-91 on route 20)as we bring back a New England pro sports tradition that's been moth-balled for almost 30 years: Hoops in Hartford!
New England sports fans will remember that for twenty years (1974-1995), the Boston Celtics played a handful of regular season games in Hartford's Civic Center, the last one on April 15th, 1995 against the Detroit Pistons. With the release date drawing closer for our new full-play basketball game, we thought it would be fun to revive the "Hoops in Hartford" tradition and build a live tabletop sports event around it.
So, it's Celtics-Sixers in a pre-release, FULL-play pre-PLAAY of the actual 2022-23 NBA season-opener that will happen a couple days later (Tuesday 10.18.22). We'll preface the game with a quick set-up and overview, then we'll recruit coaching staffs for both teams from the gathered gamers. Whether you're avidly interested or mildly curious, we'd love to hang out with you and enjoy some hoops!

Since we re-introduced the Pro In-Season card set concept for our baseball game this summer, it's only fitting that we bring back the focal event connected to the card set, our annual HISTORY MAKER BASEBALL Fall Classic Pre-PLAAY! We held this event in San Diego (2013), Boston (2014), Milwaukee (2015), halfway between New York and Philadelphia (2016), Seattle (2017), Dallas (2018) and St. Louis (2019) before COVID shut everything down in 2020. We’re excited to get the event back on the schedule, too! And as long as we're on the road..let's make this trip do double-duty!
This year, we'll pre-PLAAY the end of the baseball season with the express baseball game, which means we can EXPAND the in-person game menu while reducing the time required! Starting at noon, we'll pre-PLAAY both the ALCS and NLCS, a full seven games (in previous years, we used a "game seven" format for the LCS, with one game deciding the league pennant winners), and then we'll conduct our very own World Series, again with "express."
